We now import a full line of 100% PURE SILK thread direct from Japan that is designed for Kumihimo. The thread is supplied for 16 or 24 tama (bobbins), 42 or 28 ends per tama, already cut to a length of 2.7m (~3yd) and ready to wind on your tama. This is a full 40g of silk, 672 ends total, enough to make about 2m (6 feet) of braid that is about 5 ~ 8mm (3/8") in diameter. This makes the perfect elegant accessory for your favorite Kimono, Obi, camera strap, lapel pin, or any item that needs a beautiful braided embellishment. This thread is dyed in small batches by hand by a small, family owned business.

The sample thread card shown above left is 7.5" X 10.5", 4 pages and includes 116 shades at present. You just order the shades you need by number, and the shades can be mixed in a thread set. We recommend that your purchase the sample cards before ordering because computer monitors do not show the colors accurately.
